We’re looking for someone to help us grow Love-a-List by finding people and local businesses who could genuinely benefit from it.
This isn’t a traditional job with set hours, targets or a fixed schedule.
Instead, we’re looking for someone who is good at spotting opportunities, starting conversations and introducing people to Love-a-List.
You can work whenever you want, for as much or as little time as you want, and you’ll be paid for the people and businesses you introduce who go on to register.
Love-a-List is a free app designed to make everyday life admin easier.
At its heart, it’s a simple to-do list, but when someone needs help completing a task, Love-a-List can help them find local businesses, hear from businesses that may be able to help, or find useful online options.
A big part of what we’re trying to do is make it easier for people to discover and support local and independent businesses.
We’re still in the early stages of growing the app, so we’re looking for some extra help getting Love-a-List in front of the right people.
The main job is simple:
Find people or businesses who could benefit from Love-a-List, introduce them to it and record who you’ve contacted.
How you find them is largely up to you.
Facebook groups and Nextdoor are obvious places to start because people regularly ask for recommendations for local services.
For example, someone might post:
“Can anyone recommend a good dog groomer?”
You could:
That one post could potentially lead to the person looking for a dog groomer registering, as well as two or three local dog groomers registering their businesses.
You don’t need to manage those relationships afterwards.
If someone is interested, has questions or wants help getting started, one of the Love-a-List founders can take over.
Your role is mainly to:
Find the opportunity. Start the conversation. Make the introduction.
Facebook and Nextdoor are useful because they show what people are actively looking for, but you can find potential businesses in lots of different ways.
You might use:
If you see someone looking for a cleaner, florist, tutor, gardener, dog groomer or another local service, you can use that as a prompt to find relevant local businesses and introduce them to Love-a-List.
You can also approach suitable businesses directly without there needing to be a specific consumer post first.
We’re looking for someone who uses their initiative rather than follows a rigid script.
We want to keep the payment structure really simple.
For each person you directly contact as a potential Love-a-List user and record in our database:
£3 if they subsequently register for Love-a-List.
For each business you directly contact and record in our database:
£7 if they subsequently complete their business registration on Love-a-List.
There is no limit to the number of genuine registrations you can generate.
For example, if one Facebook post resulted in:
You would earn £17 from that activity.
If three businesses registered as well as the consumer, you would earn £24.
The more effective you are at finding the right people and businesses, the more you can earn.
There is one important point to understand.
To create a business profile on Love-a-List, a business owner first needs to register as an individual user. They can then create their business profile.
We don’t pay twice for the same introduction.
If you approached someone as a business, their initial individual registration does not also count as a £3 consumer registration.
Once they complete their business registration, you receive the £7 business payment.
So:
Consumer introduced → consumer registers = £3
Business introduced → owner registers personally and then registers the business = £7 total
The same person cannot generate both a consumer payment and a business payment from the same introduction.
To keep things fair, we’ll use a simple outreach database.
Before someone registers, you’ll need to record the person or business you’ve directly contacted.
Generally:
We’ll agree the exact rules before you start so that everything is clear.
We’re not interested in mass messaging or spam.
We’d much rather someone contact 10 genuinely relevant businesses than send the same generic message to 100 businesses.
Messages should be friendly, relevant and appropriate to the person or business being contacted.
We’ll provide example messages and explain how Love-a-List works, but you’ll have the freedom to adapt your approach depending on the situation.
Whenever you want.
There are no fixed hours and no requirement to be online at particular times.
You might spend half an hour looking through local Facebook groups one evening, spend a couple of hours finding businesses another day, or simply do it whenever you spot a good opportunity.
How much time you choose to spend on it is up to you.
We’re not particularly concerned about qualifications or previous job titles.
It could suit someone who:
Experience in sales, marketing, social media, community engagement or business development could be useful, but it isn’t essential.
You can hand them over to us.
You won’t be expected to become their salesperson, onboard them or provide ongoing customer support.
One of the founders can pick things up once you’ve opened the conversation.
At this stage, we’re initially sharing this with friends, family and people we know, so we’re keeping things pretty informal.
If you think it sounds interesting, or you know someone who might be good at it, get in touch and we can have a chat.
You can also visit lovealist.com/how-it-works to find out more about what we’re building.
The intention is for this to be a very flexible, results-based opportunity rather than a role with fixed working hours.
Before anyone starts, we’ll agree how introductions are recorded, how registrations are attributed and how payments are made.
We’ll also make sure the working arrangement is set up appropriately for everyone involved.
